Support our Refugees
Afghan refugees are beginning to arrive to our city, and we are excited and honored to ease their transition to the U.S. by meeting tangible needs. We are sponsoring at least one family of four to six individuals who will arrive with virtually no furnishings to fill their home. Click here to view the list of items needed and to register to donate before January 3, 2022.

Transgender Church Plant
In 2019, as part of our Missions Emphasis month, we sponsored a chapel plus community hall in India – India’s first chapel catering to the needs of the trans community. The project experienced delays due to the pandemic but was inaugurated around Christmas 2020. The transgender community in India is much different than the western community. While western ideas of sexuality and gender have become popular in recent years, this community is comprised exclusively of men opting to become women.…
Peanut Butter Drive
At Ashworth we strive to make an impact in our community and this year we want to do that by stocking the shelves of the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) food pantry with Peanut Butter. Through COVID, peanut butter has become a popular item and so the price has increased to $1.50 a jar or $18 a case (12 jars). While the price has increased, so has the need. That’s why this year we want to purchase an entire…

You sorted hundreds of cans of food that will end up in our local food pantries to feed folks in our…

When Showing Up Really Matters
For a few weeks now, we have been talking about inviting and bringing someone with you to our Ashworth Easter services. Every week we have placed invite cards on the pews in hopes that you would pick them up, take them with you, pray over it, and eventually hand it to someone who needs a place to worship on Easter Sunday. To add a bit more incentive to encourage you to bring someone with you to Easter this year, we…
Community Impact – Kid Cafe
