Why God Deserves a Second Chance
Introduction A lot is written across the internet telling people that God gives us all a second chance, but what about the person who has given up on God? There is a scarcity of information trying to persuade a person to Give God a Second Chance. Now think about that, trillions of articles and pages on the internet, and I couldn’t find more than a page or two arguing for why God is worth a second shot. It baffles me because…
Why Did I Give Up On God?
Everywhere you look today it seems we are met with more and more reports of churches in decline, people walking away from faith, and people giving up on God. Why this is happening? Unless we are willing to ask what I think can be some very real, but very difficult questions, we will never understand. Does God even deserve a second chance?
Is It Because There Is No God?
We all have resources we turn to when we need help, advice, or input. Should I take this job? How do I handle this situation with my child? Is it time to move? Can my marriage be better? Should I eat that second (or third) donut? Sometimes we turn to family. Sometimes we look for the latest and greatest book on the subject. Friends are usually always willing to help out. And those casual acquaintances are ALWAYS ready to tell…

What’s Your Story? Beyond Buddhism
A young man raised in a devout Buddhist home, hears the good news of Jesus for the first time at college. Growing up in a “sea of deities,” he finally encounters God with us, Emmanuel. A powerful story of community, faith and honor. What’s your 2015 story? Click … click … click. I could hear my parents in the other room using a handheld tally counter as they recited mantras. In one day in our home, the counter might reach…
What’s Your Story? From Atheism to Christ Follower
What could possibly move someone from a long held atheist worldview to not only believing in, but trusting in God? A very powerful story of searching, surrender, and following Christ wherever he will lead. I don’t know when I first became a skeptic. It must have been around age 4, when my mother found me arguing with another child at a birthday party: “But how do you know what the Bible says is true?” By age 11, my atheism was…
What Is Your Story?
What Will Be Your Story in 2015? We all have a story. Where we have been. Where we are. Where we are going. And everyone’s story is different. Our stories are littered with twists and turns, good decisions and bad, blessings and trials. For many of us, we don’t think too much about our story. We go through life just trying to survive from day to day. We can’t stop and think about the tory being written in our lives because…
How to Find the Right Church
Coming out of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it’s a wild time of the year for shoppers to find the best gifts for our families (and sometimes ourselves) at the best prices possible. We search the internet for deals at multiple stores and then run from location to location trying to gather the best of what is being offered by the retailers this year. Some of us love trying to find the best deals while others grow weary of this…
God’s Gift to YOU!
“Salvation is a free gift from God to all people” That is the first line of our church’s belief statement on the subject of salvation, which was the topic of our youth study last night. As I read that line, one teen asked, “But how can you say salvation is for all people if we believe that some people are never saved from their sin?” Herein lies the issue which people often get confused about. When you mistakenly believe that…
