Quarantined: Day 25

Quarantined: Day 25

Almighty God,

When there was nothing good within me, you loved me and gave yourself for me. You have set me apart and called me to know and follow you.

This calling is not to a set of rules and regulations or even a new religion but to you. To seek you. To follow you. To allow you to shape and form my heart into a pattern that looks more and more like Jesus every day.

Shine your light in my heart during this season of quarantine and reveal to me the areas that I might try to keep hidden. The areas I might try to cover up—the areas where I might try to retain control.

Difficult seasons and the breaking of our regular routines can bring out the worst in people. But God, it can also position us to evaluate and to bring into submission anything that is keeping us from you and being used by you to bring your light and love into this world.

Grant me the wisdom to continue using this season as a means of growth in my faith, a refining of my thoughts and desires, and a renewed pursuit of holiness in my life.

Today’s Journaling Reflections

  • What part of this prayer resonates with you the most?
  • Rewrite this prayer in your own words asking for the holiness of God to become a more significant part of your life.
  • Read 1 Timothy 4:7-8. What practical things could you do today that would allow God to work in and on your heart?
