Elizabeth has called Ashworth her church home since 2016. Born and raised in Jefferson, IA, she spent much of her childhood playing sports and attending summer church camps. Following high school, she attended Central College in Pella, IA, where she majored in Communication Studies and Spanish.
Elizabeth moved to Des Moines in 2016 to work as a Campus Staff Minister with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Drake University and DMACC. After four years of mentoring students in the faith and working to reach each campus with the gospel, she spent time refining her communications skills as the Marketing Director of a local health clinic. No matter where she’s worked, her greatest joy has been witnessing Jesus transform the hearts and minds of the people around her.
After several years of serving on the hospitality team, prayer team, and Leadership Council at Ashworth, she felt led to join the staff team as the Team Lead of Ministry Services to use her communication and administrative skills to love and connect others to Jesus . Her and her husband, Garrett, currently live in Norwalk and are expecting their first child in June of 2023.
