Brent joined Ashworth Church in 2007 as Associate Pastor before becoming Lead Pastor in 2012. An Arkansas native, he stepped out of a career in banking to pursue full-time ministry and moved with his family to central Iowa. He is a graduate of Central Baptist College and B. H. Carroll Theological Institute and is completing training as a spiritual director through Sustainable Faith. Brent is passionate about helping people experience genuine life change through Jesus and grow in a deeper, more formed faith.
Brent and his wife Kerri have been married since 1995, have seven children, and live in West Des Moines. They previously served as licensed foster parents, an experience that continues to shape their life and ministry, and recently welcomed their first grandchild.
