Midweek Minute – Important Worship Service Changes

Midweek Minute – Important Worship Service Changes

Video Transcript

Hey, this is Pastor Brent, and this is another special edition of the Ashworth Midweek Minute.

As you know, life has been interrupted a bit lately. And this has impacted us as a church as well. We are doing our best to navigate these uncharted waters and are committed to doing everything we can to make sure we continue to help you connect with Jesus and one another while also keeping you safe.

Monday evening, our staff and elders met to discuss how we should proceed going forward. We are taking into account the guidelines and recommendations of the Governor, Iowa Department of Public Health and the CDC. As you can imagine, this is changing rapidly, and so this announcement could be modified in the future.

To stay up to date with what is happening with Ashworth Church, like our Facebook page, subscribe to our newsletter, and make sure we have your correct contact information in Breeze. If you need help with any of these things, let us know at lynn@ashworth.church.

Now for the news. Because of the current recommended guidelines of the state of Iowa, we are moving our worship services for the next three Sundays to online only. For Sunday, March 22, March 29, and April 5, we will NOT hold public worship services. We will make available online services. This week we will have two services available for you. 9 AM will be our modern service, and 10:45 AM will stream a classic service.

These services will be available on our Facebook page at facebook.com/ashworthchurch and also on our website at ashworth.church/live.

Even though we are unable to meet together in the same physical space for worship, we will still kick off our 21 days of praying the king’s agenda. This starts on Sunday. If you would like a physical copy, email Lynn at lynn@ashworth.church, and she will drop one in the mail to you. Or download a digital copy at ashworth.church/21days. And watch our social media channels next week for opportunities to interact with us and others from the church through these next 21 days.

We know many businesses are being closed due to the coronavirus. If you or someone you know needs help, let us know. If you need someone to get groceries or medicine for you, reach out. Send an email to prayer@ashworth.church, and someone will contact you to see how we can help you during this challenging season.

And lastly, don’t forget to give. We have put a spending freeze in place at the church to help us weather this time. However, the mortgage still needs to be paid; we have staff that might not be able to work like our cleaning crew and nursery workers that we want to continue to support. And we are exploring ways we can help those in our communities, so we aren’t sitting on the sidelines watching this happen around us. And we can’t do these things unless you continue to give. Drop a check in the mail or go online to ashworth.church/give and send your offering so we can continue to minister even during the pandemic.

Remember, stay calm. God is still good. And ask the one who said to the storm, “peace, be still.” to bring peace into the anxiety and stress of your life. We will get through this, but we will get through it better together.

Stay safe and stay healthy. And that’s your Ashworth Midweek Minute.
