Not only does Jesus regularly attend dinners, banquets, and celebrations — he also talks about them frequently. Jesus’ messages about parties all contain a surprise. And that surprise always has to do with the unexpected grace that God has for undeserving people. Jesus defies all expectations by befriending sinners, and by teaching about parties that are thrown for strays, rebels, failures, and outsiders. 

Don’t miss out on the surprise of Jesus at Vacation Bible School this June 15 – 19 from 5 to 8 pm each evening. Expect awesome music, engaging Bible stories, a daily meal, games, and loads of SURPRISES! Register your child to participate below.

We’ll provide everything you need for the workshop, including flowers, vases, and floral scissors. However, we do encourage a $10 donation to help us cover all the supplies needed for our evening together. If you bring your own vase and/or floral scissors, we encourage just a $5 donation! Join us for Christmas caroling this December! We’ll meet at the church before heading to different homes of individuals and families in our community who could use a little extra joy this holiday season.

When traveling, note that Alice’s Road (170th St) is closed just north of Hickman. The Ringgenberg’s recommend that anyone who lives south of Douglas drives north on 156th St to Meredith, and then turns left at their street (169th St).

Pastor Amy will introduce Generations of Faith at Senior Adult Lunch on September 10 if you’d like to get a taste of what it’ll be like. If you plan to join us for Senior Adult Lunch, please RSVP here so we know how much food to provide.

We invite you to host a Super Bowl party, opening your home to neighbors, church friends, co-workers, and family members. During the game, we encourage you to create a video showcasing your decorations, quality and variety of food, game-watching experience, and overall vibe of the party. We’ll then crown a Super Host Champion!

Slow down, reflect, and let Jesus refresh you at our winter spiritual formation retreat. We’ll spend a morning at Raccoon River Lodge learning how to engage with God through various spiritual formation exercises, focusing on renewal in our relationships with Christ and the world around us.

Although the retreat will begin at 9 am, you’re welcome to come as early as 8:30 am for pastries and time to mingle!

Our nursery will remain open at the church, with Ashworth Toddlers there for their usual programming as well.

If you prefer to stay home for Christmas Eve, we invite you to join us online. Our Christmas Eve service will be available to view on our Facebook page or YouTube page.

During the service, we hope to baptize anyone interested in expressing their commitment to Jesus publicly. If you’re interested in being baptized, click here!

The band of the evening is The June Bugs, a Des Moines cover band highlighting women in the music industry by showcasing songs written and/or performed by women. If you’re interested in learning more about the evening, click here!

We’re hosting a Modern Worship Service at 9 am and Classic Worship Service at 10:15 am. A nursery is available, and children ages 3 through grade 5 are welcome to join Ashworth Toddlers or Ashworth Kids for a morning of fun during our Modern Service!

Participate in Person: We offer 2 different service times in our socially distanced worship center to observe Ash Wednesday. You may come during your lunch hour from noon to 1 PM or arrive after work from 6-7 PM. This quiet time of observance to go through all the stations usually takes people between 15-30 minutes.

Ash Wednesday at Home: If you would prefer not to participate in person, this year we will be offering Ash Wednesday @ Home where we will mail you an envelope with everything you need to observe Ash Wednesday without leaving your home. If you are interested in this option, sign up below by Friday, February 12 to guarantee you will receive the package in time.

Come celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, with your friends and family at an Ashworth Christmas Eve. We will offer two services, one at 4 PM and another at 5 PM.

Masks are required and to keep everyone socially distanced, we require that you reserve your seats.

And if you prefer to stay safe in your home for Christmas Eve, then we invite you to join us online. Our Christmas Eve service is now available to view in the video above or on our Facebook page or YouTube page.

Join us as we gather for an outdoor brunch at Kerri Clark’s home! Bring a chair and come ready to connect (social distance style :)) with each other and Jesus. We’ll have coffee, chai, and breakfast ready for you!
