Resources for Advent

The season of Advent gives us space to prepare, wait, and reflect upon the birth of Jesus, as well as His promised return. This year, we came across a number of resources we thought you might find helpful in the four weeks leading up to our celebration of Christ’s birth. Take a look at the links below and consider choosing a guide to help you fully embrace the season of Advent.

If you would prefer a printed copy of one of the guides, we’ll have several printed and waiting for you on Sundays on the tall tables just outside the sanctuary!

Advent Meditations

Practicing the Way has prepared a guide with weekly devotionals, reflection questions, and practices centered around the idea of “preparing for the King.” Check it out!

Advent Scripture Calendar

This resource from the BibleProject is very simple. For each day of Advent, they provide a Scripture and reflection question for you to consider. Take a look at it here!

Unhurried Advent

This guide from Unhurried Living provides weekly Visio Divina and devotional reflections followed by questions to consider. All invite their readers to reflect upon the traditional values of Advent: hope, peace, love, and joy. Look at it here.

Sacred Space

This Advent devotional is a daily guided prayer experience inspired by Saint Ignatius of Loyola. The ministry behind the devotional also developed an app you can download here with prayer experiences for every day of the year!

Making Room in Advent

In this Advent devotional from Bette Dickinson, you’ll find 25 devotionals with invitations to step away from the chaos and into the space where God is at work. Find it on Amazon here!
