Reflections on Summer of Love 2014

Reflections on Summer of Love 2014

As the summer comes to a close, kids head back to school, and we begin a new season, I find myself incredibly thankful for this summer with Ashworth Road Baptist Church! You all blew me away as I filled big shoes and planned Summer of Love with the ARBC Missions Team. More than 70 of you showed up week after week in July to paint, pull weeds, lay carpeting, and most importantly to love and bless so many people in our city.

Because of your work this summer kids will have better classrooms, young women coming out of sex-trafficking will have a beautiful home to heal in, vegetables were harvested for people who are hungry. Because of you many spirits were lifted and walls painted, yards tended to, and small projects completed in the homes of people who were physically unable to do it themselves.

THANK YOU, thank you, thank you.  And as you look forward to this new season of packed schedules and fall activities, don’t forget the ways God moved in and through us this summer, and don’t stop loving your city!
