OBEDIENCE IN ALL OF LIFE

Obedience to Jesus is a willingness to yield every part of your life to what he desires for you. This includes the obvious behaviors we are told to avoid in the Bible, but it’s so much more. Obedience includes how you manage your relationships, your willingness to share the Gospel with others, how you use your time and money to serve, and even how you vote. As such, below is an assortment of articles encouraging us obey Jesus in various facets of life. Our hope is that you will ponder Sunday’s message about obedience, read some of these articles, take a look at the discussion questions from the message at the bottom of this feed, and truly consider where Jesus wants you to better align your will with his own.

MESSAGE DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

We hope the message from each Sunday sticks with you beyond the Sunday morning worship service. Take a moment to consider the questions below, and even better, talk to somebody (who attends the church or doesn’t) about them.

  1. Are you more compliant or strong-willed? How easy is it for you to obey when someone asks (or requires) something of you? Why do you think this is?
  2. How have you tried to substitute other things, like religious activity or legalism for obedience to God?
  3. Is God calling you to obedience in some area of your life? If so, what area and what is one tangible action you can do this week to move toward obedience in that area?
