ENGAGING THE REAL ENEMY

Sunday’s message reminded us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual powers of our dark world. This couldn’t be more evident than when we think about the political climate in America. The first article by well-respected theologian Darrell Bock shines a light on how Christians should engage the culture given this very different world we now live in. This includes praying against the spiritual forces working behind the scenes to divide.

Or, if you want a break from thinking about all the cultural changes you deal with daily, take a look at the article Rooted Together which takes wisdom found in the woods and applies it to our spiritual lives. No matter what you read, we hope the content below encourages your faith journey. And even better if you find someone to discuss it with!

IS GOD A WHITE, MALE, REPUBLICAN?

As the upcoming election approaches, it’s important to remember where our allegiance as Christians lies. Too often we have tied our faith to a political party, and in this message Pastor Brent unpacks what the Bible truly shows us about God’s political agenda.

MESSAGE DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

We hope the message from each Sunday sticks with you beyond the Sunday morning worship service. Take a moment to consider the questions below, and even better, talk to somebody (who attends the church or doesn’t) about them.

  1. What is the problem with going through life without recognizing the fact there is a spiritual battle all around?
  2. Where can you join God’s cosmic battle against spiritual darkness this week? What will you commit to pray regularly for?
